Weekly Sightings – Bahati The Leopard Sightings in Masai Mara
We were lucky to spot and spend almost 1 hour with Bahati the leopard from Masai Mara. She has been famous for being featured on Big Cat Diaries on BBC. Bahati is the daughter of Olive, who has been successful in raising her cubs to maturity.
We were on our evening game drive in search of the Topi Pride, which had killed a hippo and were in a thicket feeding on the carcass for almost 4 days. We were lucky enough to spot Olakira that morning, but just within a few minutes, she vanished. We were looking forward to sight leopards and cheetahs, and we were lucky to sight 3 sightings of Olakira and Bahati combined.
On our safari staying at Mara Explorer, our guide made sure we had the best sightings of the leopards and most importantly Bahati. Once we heard she was seen, we rushed to the sighting to just spend the evening with her. She was elegantly resting on a tree and later made a show for us as she climbed down from the tree.
